KHAIRY Jamaluddin has bought a stake in financial advisory firm ECM Libra Bhd from its senior officers, Bursa Malaysia filings showed today.

The purchase gives Khairy a direct stake for the first time in a firm where he has been a member of the corporate advisory and investment banking team since July last year.

Khairy bought a total of about 13 million shares, or a 3 per cent stake, in the firm in separate transactions from chairman Datuk Kalimullah Masheerul Hassan, chief executive officer Lim Kian Onn and chief operating officer Chua Ming Huat, ECM Libra said in an exchange statement after the market closed.

The purchase is valued at about RM9.2 million, based on the purchase price of 71 sen a share, the filings showed. — Reuters
